Mixed Media Collage with cardboard

Whenever I present a collage project I am simply setting the stage and without fail, I am amazed at what transpires.

Found objects can be repurposed and translated in countless ways.  Needless to say, possibilities are endless! The creative and critical thinking buzz that fills the room is quite intoxicating and so very gratifying.

Here is what happened during Super Saturday at the Campbell River Art Gallery.  Free art making for all ages, every second Saturday.  Check out the gallery website for the calendar of activities.

Set out a variety of objects

I had some painted art cards I had made for another project so I tossed them in there.

The cardboard can be any size.  Tear off some of the top layer for more texture.

Add some colour with oil pastels

Gather some bits, colour some of them

Think about the arrangement

Hot glue everything in place

Some 3 dimensional work

A triptych

Louise Nevelson influence?

This was a father son collaboration.

I certainly was a happy day!
