Happy Valentines Day!

Sending creative love your way.

This was made by a shy grandpa who said "I'm not much of an artist".
I would have to disagree, whole heartedly!

Well, yesterday was a super fun and love filled Super Saturday at the Campbell River Art Gallery, and being the day before Valentines Day this project was a good fit.  We printed cards using styrofoam templates, acrylic paint, and watercolour paper.  Easy and fun for all ages.

We used styrofoam plates to make a template.  Cut to the size of paper card or any shape that would fit on the card.

Use a dull pencil to create a design.

Paint with acrylics, not too thick, but don't let it dry

Press the painted template onto the card.

Voila!

And BLAMO!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!

Painting Campbell River

What a great day! Painting with acrylics on paper and creating artworks to hang in the Campbell River Hospital.

The theme for this project was "My Favourite Places in Campbell River"

It was awesome fun but as it turns out the paper we used was too large for the preset frames they have for hanging them and so we will have to do this session again.  In any event, these paintings are too wonderful not to share.

Christmas Wrapping Paper with Fruit and Veggie Stamps

Here's a fun ways to jazz up your xmas gift wrapping.  Make your own wrapping paper and give it your personal touch.  You can get as elaborate as you like by carving designs into potatoes or make snowman images with round stamp shapes and add features with markers or dots of paint.  For Super Saturday art making at the gallery we kept it simple.

Using a brush, we applied paint with to the cut fruit or veg and stamped a few times before reapplying the paint and stamping some more.

Some made patterns

Others did all over designs

And then there's four year old Caitlyn! An artist after my own heart.
She always dives right in without fear.
